The difference between electron microscope and optical microscope?

Electron microscope (EM) is a large-scale instrument which uses electron beam as illumination source to image on the fluorescent screen through transmission or reflection of electron current on the sample and multi-stage amplification of electromagnetic lens. The application of electron microscope technology is based on optical microscope. Optical microscope is an optical instrument that uses visible light to illuminate and enlarge the image of small objects.
